Optical power of the eye (in dioptria).
If the figure is preceded by the signe “-” , it is a myopia.
A “+” indicates an hypermetropia.
The higher the figure is, the more important the visual defect is.
> Figure in brackets + figures in degrees :
Values indicating the presence of an astigmatism.
The second value (in degrees) correspond to the axis of the astigmatism.

Value of the addition for presbyopes, for near vision.
