Sunlenses
The
UV cut
is given by the material of the lens, but the protection against luminosity depends on the tint. A dark lens is more protective than a clear lens.
Intensities are classified in 5 categories, from 0 to 4 (as for sun cream protection indexes).
The categories 0, 1 and 2 are not very protective :
0 = overcast,
1 = low sunlight,
2 = medium sunlight.
The categories 3 and 4 offer a reliable solar protection:
3 = bright sunlight in mountain or by the sea,
4 = very bright sunlight.
CAUTION : the cosmetic tints (pink, orange, blue, ...) are not protective (intensities 0 and 1) .
Your Nikon tint in our range
Nikon offers you a large choice in classic solar tints and in specific, full or graduated tints, for your sunglasses.
To be noticed : Nikon is the only manufacturer to make extremely thin tinted lenses (
ultra high index in 1.74 material
), for strong corrections.
